My first job in broadcasting was a short summer stint with @Country105_FM in Calgary when I was 17. I called the ‘mini-Chuckwagon races’ at their booth at the Stampede and gave out free t-shirts. Radio is where I discovered Elvis and rock and roll. It brings us together with summer road trips, historic championship runs and big moments like 9/11, the Blackout of 2003 and COVID-19. I find it somewhat ironic that the medium I have spent so many years involved in, shares the same birthday as I do. Perhaps it was a sign of why I got involved in it so many years ago!
