Canada Post stamp commemorates 100 years of radio in Canada. The first broadcast featured the playing of records on a gramophone and soprano Dorothy Lutton. Afterwards, the 7th caller won a copy of her new album. pic.twitter.com/eWW51QiAob

Today is 100th anniversary of the first radio broadcast in Canada and @canadapostcorp is commemorating it with this stamp.
I’ve had privilege of doing TV, print & radio in my career and can say that no platform is as honest, intimate and genuine as talk radio in this country. pic.twitter.com/xh2lA3a0H2

A pair of colourful stamps celebrating 100 years of radio history was issued by @canadapostcorp on May 20, exactly one century after an early broadcast by one of the world’s first radio stations, XWA in Montréal.

May 20, 2020 marks a century of radio in Canada. The first scheduled Canadian radio broadcast in 1920 was a taste of all that radio would bring to Canadians over the next 100 years – our love & appreciation for the medium continues today. http://ow.ly/SO9950zLu3u #ThankYouRadio pic.twitter.com/yH6P08HlI4
